Ephesians 1:16 Paul writes, vs 15 Therefore I, vs 16 "do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers."

To my family far away in Arizona, Iowa, Maryland I love you all and I thank the Lord for you and mention each of you in my prayers to the Lord that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.  God has so much for us all and I thank Him today for putting before my eyes to make mention of each of you my family.

I also thank the Lord for my extended family and you know who you are.  Paul is speaking here in the scriptures to the church.  So as I write this very brief but heart felt message, I give thanks to the Lord for all the saints, those in the church.  I thank the Lord for my Pastor who showed me how to study and listen to the Lord, and walk closely with Him even when times are tough.  I thank the Lord for all the men in my life the deacons from Friendship baptist Church during my season there from 1990 to 1994, for those in my home church, Kings Hwy Baptist Church from 1995 to 2003, and of course the staff and the deacons here at Open Door Community Church.  God has blessed me with so many of you who have been a spiritual support to me in my Life Journey.  I thank the Lord for all my friends who walked with me over the course of my 30 years with ADT.  All of your names are in my heart and mentioned to the Lord in prayer, giving thanks.

Most important I thank the Lord for my wife, my three children and seven grandchildren.  My prayer is each of you come to know and understand the exceeding greatness of His (Jesus Christ) power toward those who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.  And for all of my friends, I am reminded to thank God for your part in my Life Journey.  And even though they are no with me, I thank the Lord for my mom and dad, who I believe are both in heaven sitting in fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

You may have noticed I reference several times Life Journey.  I am thankful for all of you who had a part in my L=living I=in F=faith E=everyday journey.  I thank You Lord Jesus for Your Love Grace and Mercy and I pray You pour it out on the lives of those You have put in my life,  Most important thank You Lord Jesus for John 3:16.

Happy Thanksgiving, now remember It is ok to say Merry Christmas.

Matthew 14:22

Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.

As I study the Word and listen to others who God used to speak to me reference this scripture, I had to drop this brief blog on everyone of my family and friends.

Often the messages that come out of the scriptures are about many miracles, Jesus walking on the water, Peter walking on the water, Peter looks at the storm in his life, like many of us, and begins to sink.  The greatest response when Peter cries out save me, and Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and caught him and lifted out of the storm.  All wonderful messages in fact I preached messages around those great miracles.

But what I got out of the text yesterday, Jesus says get in the boat.

When Jesus puts you somewhere be assured He wants you to trust Him and stay in the boat.  The boat experience that you may be having right now, feeling like the world is tossing you around like the waves and wind in storm, it is a storm no question, but Jesus put you in the boat now just stay and watch Him do a miracle in your life.  Oh you of much faith, He will care for you.

Have a great day in Christ, live your life today full of JOY, put Jesus first, care for others, and you will be cared for while in the boat.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Titus 1:2

in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,

A promise to be reminded of each day, and today as I opened the Bible, God spoke these words to me.

It is Tuesday morning sitting here at the ODCC office waiting to have prayer and devotional time called Coffee with the Pastor.  And as it is often, it is the Lord and I.  Those who would like to come, it is every Tuesday at 9am.  The Lord, who promises eternal life for those who believe, and a local Pastor.  A time to give attention to God.  The Apostle Paul is speaking to a young pastor named Titus.  As he writes, God speaks, we have hope in eternal life, a promise of God.  When the day brings news that causes you to say why me, know that God does not lie and His promise from the beginning of time is to supply you and I eternal life.  We need only to trust and obey for there is not other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.  The trust factor requires fatih, the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)  The faith, hope of eternal life, brings out obedience, faith is the only way we can please God and this faith is what gives us the ability to believe in who He says He is, the God who does not lie and from the beginning of time has prepared eternity for those who just accept and believe in Jesus Christ.  visit the ODCC website page, come to know Jesus.  Be blessed today.

Who Is that in Time of Need?
Matthew 25:31-46
I can only say that this scripture today speaks volumes to me. First we must all understand there is going to come a time when finally the King of kings the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ will say “come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” As well He says, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:”
Today we have diligently spent time working towards getting help for a family in need here at ODCC. First let me say the response from many has been immediate and decisive. Thank You. Now with that said, I would like to speak to what God has spoken to my heart with the scripture above, which I encourage everyone to study. Jesus Christ is always represented through those in need. Those hungry, thirsty, strangers, many without clothing, sick physically and often found in the prison and the religious people look down and say, aren’t they pitiful. Not even knowing what they are saying or better said not even understanding what they do when they walk away or turn away from the ones truly in need. Now listen what the Lord says to us all in Matthew 25:45, “Then He will answer them, saying, As suredly, I say to you (personal, you and I), inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.” He put on my heart, if I turn my back on the very ones who have needs, and most important to those who are of the body of Christ, (Galatians 6:10) it is the same as turning my back on Christ Jesus Himself. And when the time comes those who have turned away from those in need will go away into everlasting punishment. Who is that in time of need? Who ever it is in your life, work hard to give them food, a drink, take them in even if it is a stranger, help with clothing, visit those in the hospital and nursing homes who are alone and even call the RRJail and visit someone you know or just send a card of encouragement. Doing for the least of these is doing for Christ Jesus. We all should desire to stand before the Lord Jesus Christ, and hear Him say, you who took care of the needy took care of Me, enter into eternal life, Matthew 25:26.
This time of the season many will be suffering through the economic troubles we face, however, many can do something, and if the many do something for someone in need, even if it is a little, it will be doing something for the Lord Jesus Christ.  The one we prepare to celebrate, the very one who left the wonderful blessings of heaven to be born on Christmas day only to know that He would die a terrible death on the cross for you and I, the very ones in need of salvation. Thank You Lord Jesus give us a heart to give to others as You have given to us.

Where Do You Live?

John 8:31-32

The Bible speaks often about the importance of living, abiding in the Word of God. And again here in the text the Words of Jesus Christ. "If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed." First Jesus says, if. That makes it clear to me that not everyone lives in the Word of God. Simply stated, most people who own their copy of the Bible never truly read, study, and apply the truth of God. If, He says, He is talking about you and I, we are to live in, live with and to live on with the Bible. To live in means to simply be in God’s Word. One place to live in God’s Word is through our attendance in Sunday school, Bible Studies, small group studies and worship services. Living In God’s Word.  Live with, is being busy in the work of the ministry, again in church we are living with God’s Word, and last live on, do what the Word of God tells us. That is to abide in the Word of God. And Jesus says, it is then the person becomes a disciple of Christ, a follower, one learning and growing in Christ. And the word, indeed, makes it a fact, makes it the truth. The truth is, if you live in the Bible, you become a true disciple of Christ. Why is this so important you may ask?  The Lord gives us the importance of being a follower of Christ. First the truth of His Word becomes clear and real to us. We will use it when making decisions for our families and for our own lives.  And then we become free of all that holds us down or misdirects us. You see to become a disciple, a follower of Christ, starts at salvation. When we receive Christ into our heart we then desire to please Him and abide, dwell with, live with Christ. (The Word John 1:14) And as we allow the Word to dwell within us we desire to abide in the Word, and Jesus Christ will set you free. The bondage of sin, the very nature of man, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). What ever it is that continues to hold you down from being a child of God, born again Christian, sold out for Jesus Christ busy serving Him in the local church, allow Him to set you free today, visit the come to know Jesus page on the website www.odcchurch.com.  That is all for today be set free, Jesus desires that all should come to repentance and be saved, set free.

Jesus loves you and so do I.  Pastor Ron
